20% left to do.

Next challenge will be getting there for it, some scumbag rear ended my car in the early hours of this morning and because it was an old car, it's being written off. Grrrr

Sort one problem...

  • Glad to hear it's going well. They should be doing a check every week - well they did with me. Each case is different and each cancer is individual to that person. That's why it's such a bas**** disease!!! Take your time getting back - employers only think of themselves. There's no one out there who will it you first apart from our loved ones. We have so much to fix in the house - had saved up to do it but decided to pay mortgage then save and get work done. Had planning permission and quotes. Then got told my role would be made very junior and half the salary. Then got diagnosis. What a year - glad it's almost over!

Yes can not wait until I have hoise back to myself during daytime!!! He has gotten on my nerves with the whingeing! Honestly - man up! They do make you laugh at times.....

I'm very tired and don't like this cold weather.  Might do some baking this week - Sandra talking about it has given me the urge. Must say am starting to feel a smidgen better every day - only tiredness to deal with. Onwards and upwards!

  • Quite like bright crisp days. It’s the murky dull and cols one’s that do me.

Men are just like big babies when they have colds! Could fancy a bitnof baking, only problem in this house is the dog fur, it gets everywhere.

  • Hi I'm pleased your making good progress and talk of returning to work .can't imagine when I will go back docs keep telling me I got long road travel great . you sound quite young .I'm 60 so was really fed up like lots women when we had 6 years added to our working lives then I turned 60 and got diagnosed my mum passed away as well I shall be glad when year gone. Mum's birthday Xmas day .I'm fortunate I suppose that mortgage is finished but so will my sick pay after Xmas .then apply ESA ? That won't go far .have you been off work very long .I'm guessing mine will be about a year .I also dislike cold .we got open fire so burn logs very cosy .where you find me most afternoons in front fire cup tea n blanket

  • I’m 57 and caught in the same trap. Unfortunately both kids still live with me otherwise I might make different decisions.

  • Oh it's a buggar ain't it I still got one son at home moved out then get made redundant and keep coming back but does pay rent now got job again.felt knackered before I was diagnosed body worn out I think .can't imagine having enough energy to return to work would need be part time.e never full time again.thought as get older things would get easier .have be more patient I guess

  • Patience isn’t my strong point but I’m getting good at being resigned to situations.

  • I’m the same Rileyroo I had just finished my bedroom nd pulled a strip of paper off the staircase t see how easy it would come off nd got letter for hosp. Looks a plight but not touching till ready cos it’s a big job... sigh.

Def couldnt face building work at the min jbains but something to look forward to.

Only get a meeting with the oncologist at the beginning nd at the end of treatment here (going with if probs might get more) they just hadn’t put me in for the 2 nd one ( they said I would have 1 but everyone else said it was on the schedule but wasn’t on mine). They line me up then take images based on these they then adjust position every session but I don’t have meetings with anyone. The oncologist told me at 1st meeting that there would b lung damage ( that was before the 1st measurements were even taken) said it could not b avoided as the beam goes through.

Last 2 times I was in waiting room nd chatting with others there was someone on their last session- it was great t hear nd made me feel better :-) x

  • Yes it's surprising what you can cope with when faced with it . consultant was surprised when I declined her offer of sleeping pills and councillng .don't need anyone tell me why I'm feeling bit down .think it's to do with having 2 cancers love .sorry I'm very good at sarcasm

  • Didn’t get any of that. It’s diy round here.

  • Both my girls moved out then each asked if they could come back to save towards a deposit to buy a house. They both have their own homes now - so there is light at the end of the tunnel lol.

I’m retired nd sooooo glad cos for me I would hate t have t go back t work lol( but I am 60 so older than the other ladies:-) x
