Understanding stage 4 Prostrate cancer diagnosis

Recently my dad was diagnosed with having stage 4 prostrate cancer, whilst a huge shock to the family and him I'm sure, I haven't quite figured out what this means, in terms of treatment plans, long term plans and general lifestyle changes, any input from anyone that's been through this personally or with a relative would be much appreciated!

  • Welcome to the forum Lmcr10 although I'm sorry to hear about your dad's diagnosis.

I noticed you said you're trying to figure out what your dad's diagnosis means so I wanted to let you know about a section we have on our website that is dedicated to prostate cancer. Everything is broken down in to sections which covers everything you have mentioned above but if you do have any questions about anything you come across feel free to give our cancer nurses a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040 (freephone), Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
