Thanks for reply .I phoned McMillan and spoke to a nurse who said yes would be more susceptible to coughs and colds.think I prob knew that anyway.she did suggest I have a flu jab which I hadn't thought of .

Hi,

Before I started chemo I was advised to have both a flu and a pneumonia jab - I had these at my GP's surgery a week or so before chemo started.

The chemo reduces your bodies immune system, so it is worth avoiding contact with anyone who might have an infectious disease. Especially kids who are germ reservoirs lol

I had chemo 5 rounds of it, I work in a care home , I went in to see the clients and my friends three time since having treatment and I was alright, but I would have a word with your oncology team as the cold weather is coming along with germs
