Day 9 of Chemotherapy cycle 3 side effects very hard to deal with shaking unable to walk to bathroom very weak had o call  Cancer nurse who suggested calling an ambulance if I was unable to come to the Hospital for bloods ended up in local hospital A&E no isolation people walking passed no masks the nurse looking after me never washed his hands once then walked around with my notes under his arm while carrying a urine sample. Sadly the care received is non existent given ten hours Chemotherapy then left to deal with horrific side effects,cancer nurse not interested  consultant not interested .lefy alone in despair.Cancer treatment is it worth it no quality of life no back up.

Sad to hear of your experience, I’m not surprised A&E Depts are very good at following the chemo sepsis protocol but don’t seem to know how to treat chemo patients with severe side effects

With regards to masks in my Oncology dept last week the Dr was walking round with no mask whilst patients were having their treatment

Hi Scottishbird.  Yes ring the ward.  They have so much advice and can medicate anything.  I’m on 2nd cycle had some severe sickness with 1st but I’ve got Ondansetron this time and so far so good.  Just ask, it’s their job. They’re there for you x

I too am on day 2 after first chemo session for cancer and got told to take 4 steroid tablets at breakfast and then 4 again at lunch time 16th to the 19th. I'm also on metoclopramide to help with sickness which I have to take 3 times a day for 3- 5 days. I got told to keep taking these even if I don't think I need them. The reason you and I fell okay is probably down to taking the tablets. I wish you well.
