The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Hi lovely people. Sandra am feeling your pain. I also have a chest infection and am on antibiotics and steroids.

Beach I had my first mammogram last week. It was uncomfortable on my operated boob but not as bad as I thought it would be....now the waiting again lol.

There is lots of good...hubby radiotherapy tats done, grandsons legs have been put into his first casts (at 10 days old awww).....And egypt is almost here...yay.

Hope everyone is doing good x

  • Wishing you a great and clean mammogram Cornishpastie.

  • Morning beach

bless I know exactly how u feel. I was very surprised at how hyped I got for mine...still surprises me!

mine was exactly the same as a routine mammogram- nothing different and nothing extra... quick in and out :-).

I was soooo expecting it to hurt my op boob ......and yet... it was absolutely fine...no bother at all.

it took a lllllllllong 6 wks 2days for my results ( the invite letter did say that results would take around the 6 wks mark it just felt a long wait.

Deep breathes lass just another one of those waits we all hate :-) x ️X

  • Spot on jbains.... any attempt at laughing does indeed kick the coughing off lol. Vicks sounds a great plan - mind u already been t shops today nd forgot the blinking paracetamol... sigh. X

  • Bless how you are feeling affects lots of ladies. All the scurrying around where you are practically grabbed by the arm nd dragged from appt to appt, treatment after treatment then suddenly it’s all over and it can feel as if  the last door you leave is slammed closed behind you. Leaving you feeling  adrift with your feeling that quite frankly you haven’t had time to come to terms with.

they are so aware of the feelings you are experiencing  that here in the uk we are offered support with classes and or a referral to a psychologist. There are a couple of ladies on here that have taken up on these options. We also have cancer support groups where people meet, talk about their concerns and/or just shoot the breeze about anything ( but still have a connection and understanding of each other’s feelings). A support group would be a great way to meet not just new people but people who understand.

this thread is the good and the bad...you share what you are feeling what ever  it may be... we are here for you x

  • Eee bless I don’t even have a chest infection just a head cold but it’s knocked me off my feet!

ah moving forward to right all the wrongs is definitely a good lass. Big hugs ( but don’t breath on me cos don’t want your cold too ;-)

    take care lass ️
