The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • So some more good news to add to beachbabe....

First....looks like daughter is in early stages of labour...been contracting with some dull pain for last 24 hours so reckon it's all gearing up....little man due tomorrow so bang on schedule.

My first post treatment annual mammogram appointment is changed to friday 29th March as my daughter has arranged to take me somewhere for a surprise on wednesday 27th. Not panicking at all about first check up. Feeling calm and very positive.

    And some very relieving news.....

Lee's cardiac tests all came out clear. He had a very rare and extreme reaction to a new medication he was prescribed last Friday...confirmed. Now on his medical records and he will not be having that EVER again....not on my watch! So holiday is back on for 8th April to egypt...at last....things to look forward to. Comes back to his radiotherapy but we are ready to take that on.

  • Great news beach ... woo hoo ...

Hay, how exiting cournish ... hope he's as lovely as his nanny ...  at least Lee knows what caused it, so that's good news ... and your right not to worry to much about your check ... you got that cancer scared witless ...

Here's to kicking cancers *** ... we got it on the ropes ... and we've got a knockout punch waiting for it ..

Sandra, loved your pic ... how cute are little ones ... and that windmill reminded me of a song from childhood ... "I saw a mouse" in a windmill in old Amsterdam. . Bet no one remembers that lol ...

    Chrissie

  • Hi ladies,

Dropped off the radar a little but just been reading various posts.....beachbabe, really chuffed for you with the results you got. Great news! Cornish....really glad hubby is ok after that scare and continues to do well. Hope everyone else is doing well....sorry if I've missed anyone. Life has been a bit of a whirlwind.

Was supposed to be my wedding today so a bit of a down one, but the Chinese I've just had helped. Baby is doing well and growing rapidly. My stomach seems to have popped out overnight so shopped for a few maternity bits today. Jamie's moved all back in now so feeling very content although keep waiting for something to go wrong as it all seems too good to be true right now but am embracing it .

Anyways, hope you all have a great healthy happy weekend.

    Dizzle xx

  • Awww dizzle it's so lovely to hear from you and thank you.  I'm so excited for your rapidly growing bump. You really are a true inspiration for the younger ladies going through this now. Who would have thought so much could happen in less than a year. I know your wedding was supposed to be today but maybe just maybe lady luck chose to give you little bump instead...Jamie is still there and back home so you've only gained my lovely. Much love and keep you and bump safe and well x
