The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Well hello from a fellow musketeer :-)

oh my 7yrs…. hasn’t time really flown.

A wedding how fantastic… ooooh all the shopping and mother daughter time to boot. Congrats.

Beachbabe will be married now too.

My time is freed up now because my granddaughters are now old enough to get to and from school on their own. So I’ll just be needed for the school holidays. Bit sad to not see them daily anymore but…my time will be mine again, not gonna lie, I’m really looking forward to it.

Ive tolerated the Letrozole really well so not expecting much change lol.

I hope the others drop by too… as you say a catch up would be great. X

  • Hello is anyone still on this chat? X

  • hello Jolamine

Wasn't sure if there was anyone still on this chat. Lovely of you to reply. I started a new thread which you just kindly replied on. Not great got called back after my mammogram. Had it on Monday letter arrived today first class. Feeling very scared tbh. All the mammograms since my lump was removed 7 years ago have been no problem now I have the dreaded letter x

  • Hi Beachbabe,

It sounds as if you've had a tough year. I am glad to hear that all the mammograms since your surgery have been clear and I hope that this one will be too. The reason for my recall was that they didn't have a very clear image and thought that they could detect a lump. Fortunately, the second mammogram was clearer and nothing abnormal was detected.

I'm hoping and praying that you get good news too.

  • Thank you will keep you updated dates. How are you? Looks like no one has been on here for 2 years? That's sad it was such a jolly group x

  • I look forward to hearing how you get on. I agree - it is so sad to see threads like this, which were so active, dry up - fortunately, it's a sign that people are getting on with their lives!

I am doing well thanks, apart from mobility problems as a result of treatment - it's now 16 years since my last surgery and every day is a bonus.
