The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Afternoon everyone... just done a catch up.
billy ...my daughters friend is the only person I've heard of who is constantly being to to increase her salt intake because of her low blood pressure.. have they told you to do this ? Erm no not seen the flamingo toy .. my life is obviously missing this lol.

So glad all went well for your op ️ My lil granddaughters was at A & E because her breathing was rapid.. ( all is well) they gave her a space inhaler and prescribed 10 puffs 4 hourly for 2 days then as and when needed. When we checked instructions this was extortionately over the do not use more than instructions. So rang our pharmacist who reassured us that this dosage was ok in acute situations. Hope all turned out well with yours x

Well hello jbains ️ Lovely to hear from you. Oh my you have a puppy... just bet it has warmed your heart. Think working from home is the new norm hope you are adjusting.. my neighbour hates it she misses the interaction of her work colleagues... I get that. Take lass nd don't be a stranger.

lovely to hear from you Mrs fingers ...I get the need to walk away looking for normality. We should all do what we need .. life's hard enough without looking after ourselves ️

Bad :- lil one has been poorly... started with a cold then next day her breathing was rapid an a bit laboured. A & E got her a bed on the children's ward and set off on an inhaler .. 4 hrs later they were happy for her to come home with medication... didn't test her for Corona .. said confident it wasn't. Wk later her breathing was much better but not fully so took to Drs .. he said he would have sent her for corona test but not worth it now! Glad to say she has stopped inhaler and continues to improve.

good : lil ones on school hols so I see them all day lol. Lots of walks, crafts, games and most important.. cuddles. Good times .

hope everyone's day is as good as it can be ️

  • Hello all. Hope everyone is doing as well as they can. It's a weird time and the year has whizzed by. Well I have been having pain in my ribs at the very top under the breast both at the front and back - got quite severe over the months and decided to get it checked. I haven't wanted to be near a hospital or my GP amidst all this pandemic so put it off. Went to see my consultant who was also my surgeon and he put it down to delayed side effects but as I was meant to have my yearly mammo in dec he put a rush request for one as a precaution. I thought nothing of it as I've been complaining for ages over the years to him about it and PET scan in jan was normal and past mammo was fine. About 4 days after mammo I got a call that they found something on the mammo so I need to come back for a tomosynthesis, scan and possible biopsy. Had that yesterday and I'm now in a weird state of mind. I got notice from work on thurs and it's like a repeat of events when I was diagnosed first time. Now it's the dreaded results of biopsy wait. Hopefully it's nothing - it's a 17mm lump in left breast (had it in right one almost 4 yrs ago). Life never goes to plan it seems....

  • Jbains....I have everything crossed for you! Can't imagine how you must be feeling. Sending positive thoughts your way x

Strange as I don't seem to get notifications for this thread anymore...need to look into that as I don't purposely neglect my cyber family.

Well, after a truely horrendous pregnancy my baby girl arrived on the 10th of November. Lillie Kathleen was born at 21.42 weighing 5lb 8. She's a tiny but perfectly formed gorgeous little thing. I've changed my avatar photo so you can all see her seeing we still can't post pics. Birth was very quick and easy...waters broke, 2 pushes and she was out! Really good baby already and not really any sleepless nights. The only thing not been easy is the fact I've got an infection in my one good boob and my womb so been in a lot of pain and on anti biotics. Went for a 2 hour walk the other day and I almost killed me lol. Was trialling the double buggy! Vinnie is an amazing big brother and protective of her already.
