The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Hi Sandra.

Got brens water sample after alot of thinking

Got to reorder some of brens meds only picked up on Wednesday checked on Saturday half missing and some run out Wednesday, what good is it when you order a week before time so you don't run out, then you don't get what you want. And have to order again and know it'll be late especially as there her new ones she's just getting usto..

OK rant over, i think I've been doing that a lot lately, so very sorry.

Hope you and all you ladies are well as can be.

    Love... Billy... Billy

  • Hi Billy... does the pharmacy  not owe you some?

i never understood how I was on a rpt dispense of the same meds every month and they were never ready. Then I changed pharmacy and now... alway get a text to say ready to collect and they are indeed there when I go to pick them up. May be worth changing yours too. X

  • Hi Sandra.

It's Dr surgery who changed it.

Alot of meds only get 28 a month so get further behind every month, i order with normal meds and surgery cancel it because not due yet I've complained about it, told because Dr put that amount that's it, (it's not our local Dr it's main hospital Dr so ours can't do anything.

I've tried different chemist this is the best one..

  • Hi Billy, got everything crossed for your scan!
we had Jamie's nans funeral on Friday. I wrote a poem and read it out. Was really pleased with how it all went. Had the wake back at ours and put on a good spread.

bump is growing nicely. Almost halfway through now. Can't believe how quick it's going. Vinnie coming on in leaps and bounds. Sorry it was only a quick message. Just wanted to check in with everyone. Here's a pic I took this morning xx

  • Hello to everyone on this thread :)

I just wanted to give you all a heads up about a change we need to make to the forum.

From today you will no longer be able to upload photographs to your posts.

We have had to make these changes for several reasons, one of these being that, as I’m sure you've noticed we do get inundated with people uploading intimate photos of their bodies for the purpose of diagnosis as well as other inappropriate images. We also had a few technical problems last month and so we had to close the threads with the amazing quotes, animals and birds etc. as images do take up a considerable amount of space on our server and can cause issues with the stability of the site.

As far as we aware, this is the only thread where images are uploaded and so I wanted to reply to you all directly and let you know.

We hope this won't have to be a permanent change and hopefully in the future we can look at ways of enabling you to share your pictures, but we currently don't have the functionality to make the required changes at the moment

I would like to thank you all for your understanding, with very best wishes from everyone on the Cancer Chat team

  • Hi there ...

I can totally understand where your comming from , and agree something has to change ... but just wondered if we will loose all the pics on here of @Dizzle  baby vinny and sandras works of art etc ...

It will be such a shame to loose those already on here, though from what you said I think you mean ALL past and future ...  many thanks ... and hi to all on here .... keep well in this mad mad world ... xx Chrissie

  • Hi Chriss

Sorry I should have reassured you. All the images you have already uploaded will be fine and they won't be lost, so we can still see all those lovely photos which have already been posted  It just means that you won't be able to upload any new ones. Hope that makes sense?

Thank you for you're understanding and hoping you're all staying safe :)
