The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

    Good :- weather.

Bad :- Dr phoned today asked about brens dementia,, i said I'm more worried about her Alzheimers and parkinsons and TIA's, he didn't know anything about any of it. I told him she was diagnosed early this year and I've got paperwork. Dr couldn't find his so he's getting in touch with hospital specialist to chase things up she should have been on parkinsons meds months ago.. So hopefully things will move know. (i. Hope)

  • Hi Sandra

I know I'm safe medicaly i always wear a medical pendant, with med conditions, Dr's And phone numbers. I'm always caucus don't want something doing to make me worse..

Haven't you got a calendar we have two marked up with appointments and marked off daily. Have to or we wouldn't have a clue what day or when to  gosomewhere

Hope nobody been having a row yet.

    Love to all..... Billy xxx

  • Morning Billy and your ladies.

i don't have a wall calendar .. I use an electronic one on my phone. Like you I use my calendar to remind me of events. I've never queried what day of the wk it is, probably because I normally do the school run etc. I've never had to look to see what day it is today till now lol.

    take care Billy x

  • Morning peeps

bad :- what on earth was the Scottish chief medical officer thinking. Blatantly disregarding her own advice to the Scottish people to go to her 2 nd home. In my opinion she has quite rightly lost her government position.

good :- At the moment me and mine are well.

I've joined a  few Facebook groups which are a brilliant way of interacting with new people. A couple of history groups, so seeing lots of old photos of where I grew up. Reconnecting with friends of old. A great way to help break up the monotony.

stay well, stay safe, stay in ️

  • Hi Sandra

Didn't usto have calender. Still started forgetting things (cemo brain).

I now have a calendar on the inside of two cubbard doors and stick it notes on the fridge door up to now I've noticed one of them. (fingers crossed).

The calendars have lovely puppy pictures on so worth a look to keep reminding me.. Hope your keeping well, and not drinking to much yet.

Love to all my lovely ladies..... Billy xxx

P.s I'm still washing my hands regularly.

  • Hi Billy and All,

I use a phone calendar and write everything down in a notebook (when I remember).

Had second lot of chemo on friday, that was a two week delay.  Changed pills so feeling better, but cant get off couch!  Not sure if its chemo or laziness to which I am prone .

Having said that just done 5 Minutes of zumba on you tube, some great little videos on there.

Sandra, I agree with your comments of Scottish Chief Medical Officer, at first I felt  a little sympathy must be incredible pressure being responsible for advising on millions lives.  Then found out she had done this twice (that we know of), now just furious.  She must have such a comfortable life compared to so many without even any outdoor space,  who will be struggling to meet ends meet.  Glad she has resigned.

I hope you are all staying safe and coping with all this.  We have some nice blue skies in Glasgow, but not terribly warm (no surprise there )

Have as good a day as you can.

    Sending kindest thoughts to all.

    Christine x
