The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

Sandra x ️X

  • Morning peeps

    bad :- none yay

good :- aches from decorating have faded.

The sun doth shine here for last couple of days so I'm back sitting in the conservatory with my book again... ah the bliss : missing my full signature pose because no wine... not with lil ones to look after.

daughters house- 3 bedrooms done ( just waiting for fitted wardrobes to be done). Bathroom has started to be tiled. Once upstairs done they will start the extension but.... the lil ones will be back home because they will have bedrooms to sleep in... it's the lil things ain't it lol.

  • Hi sundial, sometimes things go a bit slow probably because we're getting older doesn't help.

Good:-  got results of bone scan cancer still there but hasn't spread anywhere else, hurrah.

Bad :- worried about all these bugs going about because immune system is useless. And keep getting things already. And keeping bren OK.

To all the lovely ladies on this string. Lots of love..... Billy xxx

    Hi Billy,

I'm glad to hear that your cancer hasn't spread any further.

I guess that the best we can all do is to isolate ourselves as much as possible in the case of the Coronavirus. Looking after yourself and Bren has to be your first priority.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi sundial

I always hope when it's quiet it because people are back to their lives which is always a good thing.

great news about yr hubby... a load of your mind.

I love to hear about all things new and something as big as new fitted wardrobes is exciting. You know I want pics when done :)

  • Ah billy that is just the best news ever. Bet u r chuffed cos I know I am ️

  • Morning all. Been reading back and glad to see it's somewhat positive and everyone is such an inspiration to read. Yes we are very fortunate in UK with nhs. Liliana I really hope you get the matter sorted - arthritis is very painful.

I'm down with a chest infection - coming up to week 4 and 2 lots of antibiotics. Nope - it's not coronavirus. Had chest xray so let's see what that reveals. Work is another story - missed quite a bit over last 6 months with appts, fatigue and now this infection - wouldn't be surprised if they say see you later! It's extremely frustrating trying to get your life back to normal and do everyday normal things. But it is life and I am here so will do my best.

Family parties always bring out the best in relatives - not! Sounds awful and a shame. Very happy you're doing Well, Dizzle.

A friend of mine who was diagnosed same rime as me has had hers return. She paid for a genetic test and she does have the brca gene. I took part in the government's 100,000 genome project and they took a slice of my tumour and a blood test. I've been chasing those results for 2 years.....

About 20 emails later I may finally get a response. I have a daughter so would like her tested as it's in my family with mom and sister having had it. The coronavirus is a bit concerning. 2 patients tested at kings college hospital positive and that's where my care is - yikes.

Hope everyone keeps warm and stays free of this virus. Raining down here in London all day so guess a grey day - sunny and dry for you northerners. Weather suits my mood. Enjoy the day and keep smiling!

  • Morning peeps

bad :- I totally get why people( including me) are worried about the corona virus. Guess It is what it is and we have to follow advice as best we can.
My friend has been to shops nd bought loads of chocolate, wine, crisps and ready meals- in case she has to self isolate. Not gonna lie  I'm with her on this one.. if I get it and it might get me gonna have everything good before I go ;)

good :- Don't  things always come along that make us realise life, life is good.

have as good a day as you can peeps x

  • Hi jbains

lovely to hear from you as always ️

oh no not another chest infection ( I know they always floor you and go in forever). I'm sure our immune systems take a knock when diagnosed.
So sorry to hear about your friend ( it's what we all worry about isn't it).  Seen where others return and successfully fight it off a 2 nd time. Everything crossed for your friend.

you have enough on your plate to worry about work too. If I was you I'd put it back of the line and deal with any fallout only if you have to.

    sending warmest of hugs lass.

getting coats on now to take lil ones to school. They are scooting so nearly running me little legs off trying t keep up lol.

    look after yourself x
