The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Well hello there lass... hope all is well with u nd yrs :)

Mine aren’t markers they are clips they used to close the internal tissue after removal of the lumps ( well so the radiographer said) there were about 10/12 of them easy.

she was right they haven’t bothered me. Just made me wonder if anyone else knew they had them... cos I didn’t . :)  yup I’m same ... mastectomy If comes back.....we will keep those a fingers crossed eh X

  • No mention of any metalwork being put in at all.

We are doing OK, daughter is moving into her house next week, thought we’d never get there but we have.

I’m having an op on my foot next Tuesday so going to be wearing one of those really attractive flip flops for a few weeks. Means to an end.

  • Oh I’m sooo pleased to hear from u dragonfly been thinking of u.

Glad that’s it done nd dusted... you have waited long enough. Rest up and let your family look after you ( if I remember rightly your daughter came to help out). Here’s to the drain comes out soon.

    Take care ️X

  • Hi Billy

i think you need to speak with the gp when dealing with med dosage. U r right she shouldn’t be sleeping all day and night. I would expect him to prescribe something else for her.

They need to get to the bottom of why she is in so much pain not just trying to control it. X

  • Tbh it was fluke I saw them.... don’t normally get see the image but the chair was by the door this time so could see the screen if it had been where it was last time I wouldn’t have seen lol. Radiographer said they are common after having breast surgery.

Ah bet ya chuffed t bits for yr daughter. Is your new house feeling like home now.

oh dear foot op.... what u done. X

  • Don’t get any where near the screens, too busy trying not to go into lunar orbit. Have always found mammograms painful but since treatment sheesh. Been told to take painkillers before I go next time.

Foot, hmmm, seems to be a case of what I haven’y clobbered. Full thinkness plantar plate tear, reposition my second toeand shorten one of the bones in my second toe metatarsals. No idea how it got into this mess either.

  • I’ve never had pain during a mammogram but this time blinking heck don’t know why she went t town on the tightening up ... kept doing an extra bit. I was chatting with her but stopped mid sentence she stopped tightening then( I should have shut up sooner lol). Just asked google about clips nd they all say they are used as markers not for closing.. sheesh. Looked at some  images nd they looked exactly like mine. Reckon we should b told that stuff lol.

blinking heck lass that’s some op u r having. Mobility will be an issue for you.... hope help is gonna be on hand for u. Do not go back to work too early mrs :).... rest up to the full nd binge on all things chocolate, wine nd movies. X
