The nurses asked me to check out this thread and to sort of keep a diary going.

The bad, my adolescent son has been diagnosed with testicular cancer this week and the CT showed its travelled up to his lungs which means after surgery he will need chemo. They'll put in a central line while they remove the teste with the tumour.

The good, I'm proud of him for taking the news in his stride. He looked straight back at the doctor unflinching. If he'd turned to look at me or his mum we would've both started blubbing. Took it well did little man.

We just don't know what to expect from chemotherapy.

I'll post regular updates on here. First step is the operation on Thursday.

Just a quick note got a letter from NHS two people are coming on Friday assessing me and Mrs general health problems, (I thought this could be interesting) be handy if we knew what was wrong with Mrs for starters, i hope they've got our medical notes or it's a waste of time, I'll let you know if it was worth wile.

I think worrying about every ache and pain is natural. As soon as we hear that wrod Cancer then of course everything we feel MUST be connected to it. I think our brains play tricks on us.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Billy. Hopefully now you can get some sort of help and remember to not play it down. Tell them what it is like on the very worst day, don't tell them about the good days or you will get nowhere. x

The good may not be that great but it's at least a start.

Hope you can all manage to keep cool, i'm struggling and it's not as hot as the rest of you peeps get.

Ah Lisa we have all felt the way you do this early on in yr diagnosis. I like many felt soooo much better once I got my treatment plan. Hope yours is as simple and straight forward as it can be. Everything crossed for you on Friday.  Will be thinking of you x

PJ is right don’t play things down tell it as it is on your worst day because that is what you must be prepared for x

I’m pleased you have not gone back to work and kudos to you for recognising it is not time for you. Pushing through can often do more damage than good... you are doing the right thing x

good:- full day looking after lil ones. A walk then rest of the day in their back garden. Most of it spent with them playing in the hot tub while I sat in the shade watch them like an old mother hen lol. Back garden... it’s enough for a happy day ️

Bad :"when our great grandsons come round all they want is the Internet, youngest is 5 he goes real huffy till i say he can go in the lift I dread what some of the young ones will be like without phones and Internet, they'll be completely lost.

Good :they only come round twice a month its nice to see them BUT,, we've got things they can play with but if it doesn't have a touch screen there not interested,, your lucky Chris wish ours were like yours, best wishes

both lil one have an iPad and an iPhone. They mostly play games and listen to music on phones and watch kids YouTube nd movies on their iPad. That being said mostly used before bed for 30 mins or long journeys in the car. They love being out doors or inside doing crafts. 

Tech has a place just not all the time lol. X

I've cooled our living room down five deg I forgot I had a cooler in the loft it's a fan in a box and at the back it has a small waterfall there's a tank at bottom and you can put ice pack in to get extra cold wish i remembered it earlier,, it bearable now before bed ill take it to bed room,, hope everyone good today. Just noticed a new ladies item for the hot weather freezing bra inserts to keep the bust cool, whatever next soon they'll have something for men but a bit lower down.cool weather,

good:- not got lil ones today but called in early to pick up hot glue gun I’d left. Managed to fil in a quick craft with them before I left ( plastic wine glasses that they put self adhesive jewels on - they love their goblets lol). Shops done lunch time me thinks
