The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • I am so sorry to hear this. I hope you get it all sorted out.

  • Hi Lisa, we know how you feel. We have all been there. Just come and tell us exactly how you are feeling, let off steam and share your worries with us. There is light at the end of the tunnel. I can’t see mine yet but I will.

  • Hi Lisa sorry for ignoring you just having a good rant, it can get confusing on this sting but it's like one big family most are brest lassies but like any family there's gents as well hopefully they'll get in touch with you soon if you want to tell us a bit more about you you'll go to the end of the string so they'll notice you better best wishes.

  • Hi lisa

a very warm welcome to the thread though sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

It’s very early days for you so you are absolutely right.... how you are feeling is normal. It will get better... usually when you get your treatment plan.

i was never told my staging but I was told I was  grade 2.

Its coming up 2 yrs since my diagnosis and I am now on annual mammograms.

Life has pretty much returned to as it was before diagnosis for me... one of the reasons I still post is to show the post treatment normality.

Hang in there lass you can do this.

any questions fire away we will answer all we can. If you want t rant go for it .... many of us on here have been there done that and know exactly how you feel.

dragonfly is right look for the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes it’s further away for some but still there. X

  • As long as it’s what you want Billy that’s all that matters x

  • I think it'll be strange as long as i can remember I've always gone upstairs to bed, were also nearer Bella and she snores like an elephant,, no we talked about it yesterday and we will try it, if we don't like it I've got a lot of furniture to move again, mind you that lift helps I load it up it saves taking it up the stairs I think it's paid for it self already,, anyway good morning to everyone, I'm starting again, hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go, best wishes to you
