The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • So the youngest lil one spotted a shell at a fair nd wants it to go on her bday cake!?!

[[ ]]cue crafts to dress it up ( love it really).

Finished my new craft passion .. the mermaid fairy dolls ... 1 will sit on shell on top of cake other at bottom of cake on some coral I randomly had in house ( beats me where from or why lol). This way they get a doll each ( method in madness ;)).

really has fun with this ️ X

  • Great Sandra. You are one creative lady....with loads of patience obviously.

    Good

My 44th wedding anniversary today. It just seems like yesterday...and you know what a bl***y awful day it was yesterday. Lol. Seriously still together and still talking... can’t be all bad. We had known each other six weeks when we got engaged, eighteen months then until the wedding...I was at college 200 miles away. My mum said it would never last. I hope somewhere out there she’s eating her words...in the nicest possible way of course. No celebration. We don’t usually. In fact I’m the only one that ever sends a card. Just the way it is. The support for each other through difficult times is more important.

    Bad

    None of any consequence.

Three cheers....I’ve go this thread back on followed threads thanks to billygoat.

Hope everyone can find something good in their day.

  • Hi sundial congrats on wedding anniversary you should have told us earlier and we could have made a virtual cake and presents for you, best wishes for the future,.

  • Thanks sundial.... love being retired nd crafting on ;).

Are still knitting, I know it would be difficult because of your recent eye problems, but I know you got a lot of pleasure from it.

Oh my... happy anniversary to you nd your husband ️

6 wks nd knew your heart .... fabulous :). X

  • Thanks billy and Sandra. I don’t know about knowing my heart but I knew something obviously.

Yes I’m still knitting. I had noticed that it has been harder recently to read patterns and had booked an opticians appointment. I’ve started to download patterns from the internet which I can enlarge on the screen. I struggle a bit with dark colours and sewing up and buttons but as long as the room is light I can manage with lighter colours. I’ve just finished a lovely turquoise jumper for part of a christening present. Just in the nick of time as I finished today and the christening is on Sunday. Lol. My left eye is  not too bad at the moment. I’m hoping the initial problem which took me to a and e was conjunctivitis or similar rather than a bleed. However I’m glad I’m going to get the cataract done once the eye has  been scanned and properly checked in early August. The consultant said I will move to the top of the list once a bleed has been ruled out or treated because he couldn’t see the back of the eye.

  • That would be lovely billy but I don’t want to upset your wife...or my husband so I think we’ll have to give it a miss. Sorry.

  • Oh well at least i tried, was that an E for effort,, or a F for failure, (^_-)

    Billy

I'm starting to feel like my cold has gone and all the side effects hip hip hurray . :-)

  • Ah...I’m so glad u r still knitting- they will be delighted with the gift. Nothing compares to a hand knitted item.

I too love knitting but even with the 2 lil ones there is only so much they need lol.... hence the branching out with other crafts:).
