The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

Sandra x ️X

  • Hi Everyone,

Just been catching up on all the news on here! Definitely been quiet Sandra!

Not been to great for me my son had his appointment and told needs a scan he’s now had it and waiting for results. Then last week my mum had a car accident. Still unsure what happened but seems her car had some sort of fault and just kept going injuring two pedestrians and herself. Having that call at work is something I hope no one has to go through. Mum is home but absolutely devastated at what happened. So at moment spending time either working, looking after mum and seeing to my youngest son who has now finished school. He’s been really good and goes and “looks “ after mum while I am at work.

Big hugs to you all x

  • Hi Beachbabe,

So sorry to hear about your son and mother. I really hope the scans are clear and your mum recovers. How awful that it was a fault with the car. It will take her a time to get over what happened.

I too wonder how Dizzle and Cornish are.

It seems like there is always something. I seem to remember a time when life was much easier.

I am seeing my consultant for the first time in 6 months next week so may hear about surgery. I see the oncologist a week after but she maintains I am inoperable. Hey ho.

  • Evening all

i was saddened to hear about your difficulties over the last weeks Beachbabe and wish both your mum and son the best .

Sorry I’ve not posted for some tine. I’ve completely lost this thread on my followed threads so don’t get alerts. I have to search for the thread each time and then there’s lots to read. Suffering a bit with eyesight at the moment so it’s hard to look at the screen for a long time. Years ago I gad an op on my right eye  and to cut a long story short it left me with no central vision in that eye, So my left eye is precious. Last week it started to blur then clear and I put it down to conjunctivitus but over the weekend I bent to pick something up off the floor and lost the sight in the left eye completely. It cleared after about ten minutes but I went to A and E to get it checked, in the past I’ve been prone to bleeds behind the eye due to my diabetes. They found no bleed but couldn’t see all of the eye so I gad an appt at Eye Casualty on Monday. There I was told there didn’t seem to be a bleed but that a cataract was obscuring the view so now I’m waiting for an urgent appt for cataract surgery. I love hospitals.......obviously.

Good news is that hubby is back to normal, drving and getting about and coping well with his stoma. We’ve a cruise booked for the end of August so looking forward to that,

    take care all.

    Sundial,
