I joined this forum last night and posted a topic 'Lumpectomy or mascectomy'

I was encouraged to read this thread which I'm making my way through now... There's a lot to read. 

Whilst reading I smiled at the good but found myself bursting in to tears too. I feel vulnerable and scared and denying it is getting harder and harder. I feel quite alone with it all but that's because I'm not reaching out. Not wanting to make a 'thing' out of it.

Im really early stages but have three family members that have had the same as me. Two have passed away and my mum, who originally had a lumpectomy ended up needing a double mastectomy and chemo which mealy killed and they had to stop the treatment when she went on to a coma. She's OK now thank god.

My experience of this disease are all quite full on and horrendous so it's refreshing to read some positive stuff.

Im scared.. That's a fact. Scared of the unknown I guess.?

Bad: this disease is crap

Good: I'm off to Thailand on the 16th April to spend a month with my daughter who's a diving instructor and lives in Koh Tao. It's beautiful there and she's my world.

Hey Dizzle- a wedding is a paper. The true commitment is in the heart and Jamie is committed and so are you therefore that's marriage. You've now got a miracle bump to cement that commitment further - to me these are the most important reality factors. Who is to say you won't have your dream wedding? It will one day. You've come a long way - on your own - which is admirable and we are very proud of you.

Hey Ms May. This forum is a godsend. We are all here to support. One thing I've learned is everyone reacts differently to every stage of this journey. One day at a time and big virtual hug. I also have 2 members of immediate family with cancer but we've all reacted differently with breast cancer. Science and research has advanced so much and more and more people are surviving so hang in there. You got this.

good :- took my spring/Easter tree nd things down yesterday... aw I miss having em up already. The crafts, making and prepping were sooooo much fun and interesting- I enjoyed every min of doing it all. Def gonna do stuff for Halloween :D

got 2 apps for weather... one says rain later the other sunny nd dry all day... hope the dry ones right lol.

got my appt at BP clinic on Monday. Oh for those halcyon days not long ago when I had no meds, no illnesses and no checkups..., sigh.

Sandra, thats so fustrating isnt it. Every weather forecast I look at for next week says different things. I am going to Cornwall on Sunday to stay with Jamies auntie til Wednesday which is my birthday then we are staying in the night in Plymouth...Jamie grew up there so he wants to go back there and show me the sights. Just hope the weather is a bit more kind than its looking at the moment.

Bad..... Nothing whatsoever

Good......Went to Nandos with my younger sister yesterday for a bday lunch before I go away and Jamie bought me a Dominoes Pizza for dinner. Was definitely a cheat day but I loved it....And I was contact by the local paper who want to do a story on my "miracle pregnancy" so we should hopefully be in the paper on Tuesday. Will try and post a link :)

Thank you ladies! Glad you like it! Two weeks to go and I will definitely be thinking of you all as I walk. I know it will be emotional and I will have many tears but I will be helping to raise lots of money and meeting more fantastic people x

had lil ones this morning so they can make all things fondant to go on top of some cupcakes. Their school is having a cake fair on.....Tuesday! It’s sucky that it isn’t Monday - lil ones could  have made the cakes  today too...cos no time for them to do on Monday cos school night.....sigh.

Hubby still in hospital....very slow progress. Still not eating properly and still mainly in bed just sitting out for the morning. Stoma working properly just his stomach not co operating. Will hav been in hospital two weeks on Thursday and I don’t imagine he’ll be out until at least next week. Nevertheless he’s quite cheery....most of the time. Me..I’m just shattered .... up at the hospital five hours each day and trying to for everything else around that. No time to sit in garden room but have sat by the koi pond for a bit of downtime.

Bless... it must be reassuring that he is bright in himself and in the best place for the moment to get his body back on track. 

I am so pleased you are taking some you time ... we sometimes get so wrapped up in everything else that we neglect our own needs. He will need you when he comes home so keep up that you time whenever possible.... helps recharge the batteries x

Sorry to hear this Sundial - I do hope he comes out soon and you get some rest.
