The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • So pleased you are well Dizzle, hope your amino goes well.

Great about your heart Liliana, rubbish about the shingles. I am of an age that I have had an injection to prevent shingles.

    Good luck on Wednesday Sundial.

Sandra lovely that you enjoyed your littlest at the weekend. I can’t wait to see mine again but they live so far away.

  • Ah dragonfly..... I am blessed they live so close. Both my daughters live just a couple of mins drive away... both walking distance ️ Both have lived away though.., one Essex and the other London but both came back home to settle down.... house prices played a big part in the return to home ground.

How’s your husband doing....hopefully well enough to give you a hand nd look after you a bit.

    Take care lass ️X

  • Morning peeps

bad :- a while ago I mentioned I had bumped into an old friend of mine and her news was not good. Husband diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer and her with leukaemia. Had a catch up with another friend today and her husband has had his 3rd op and although very poorly he is still holding his own. My friend was told they would not commence any treatment and just monitor... that has changed- she has now started chemo. Cancer truly sucks. I wish them both well ️

good :-  school run done nd having a gingerbread latte with a fresh cream chocolate eclair..... maybe this should be under bad heading cos not good for the diet ha ha.... yup...no cares given ;-)

My spring bulb box seems to be still doing ok ( u know not dead lol). The hyacinths nd mini daffodils are budding and might just bloom.... eeek the excitement. Seriously I really do kill everything.....hence the excitement, constant updates and joy lol

Have as good a day as you can peeps, have the cake, leave the housework grab some joy  x ️X

  • Afternoon Sandra...afternoon all.

Talking of killin plants. This was olways a joke in my family. I only had to look at one and it was gone. My mum was a fantastic gardener and won many competitions. My elder sister seemed to have inherited the knack. Well just before my mum passed away, she took lots of cuttings from a gloxinia and potted them up. My sister had them all but one which she gave to me with a sigh, saying i know it won’t last long but... So I put it on my kitchen window sill in a saucer of water which I topped up when I thought about it, Surprise surprise it lasted sixteen years. Meanwhile all my siste’s cuttings withered within a few months. I decided that my mum must have looked after it to make a point. She always said I could do it. Ever since then I’ve planted my window boxes at the front twice a year and they are always beautiful. The garden which I’m newly redesigning since the pond was built is coming along well. I still think my mum is keeping a watchful eye. Make of it what you will. Will go out a take photo of window boxes and post in a minute,

    Sundial
