The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Morning :)

Wow, congratulations Dizzle, that’s wonderful news :)

Good luck with your house move Rileyroo :)

thinking about giving GoT a go, never was a fan of exploding heads etc but strangely I’m feeling I can watch anything a bit explicit recently .......weird what this treatment does :D

Sandra I’m voting for spring starting on 1st of March, I’ve put my Christmas.... errr winter..... cushions away this morning and getting out the spring ones today so spring is already springing :)

good.....last ever RT this evening and I can’t wait to ring the bell :)

    bad.......never felt so blooming tired

wishing you all sunshine and love xxx

  • Ah that’s brill news .... ring that bell loud nd clear lass. How are u feeling? Is that your treatment finished nd onto annual mammograms? Hows your retirement plans coming along. Ooo questions questions questions lol.

u have got to watch GoT ... period lol.

I’m feeling like spring is around the corner too.... think it’s the milder weather. My crocuses have now raised their heads in the garden too now. :-) x

Im ok thanks, feeling sore where the zapped tissue is hard but my skin is holding up ok despite looking like orange peel and a Belisha beacon! I see the oncologist at the end of March and have dexa scan next week. Is the next step annual mammograms? Ooooh I can’t imagine being squished just yet!!!!!! My home attire is old baggy t shirt and nothing else....have taken a dislike to any clothing next to zapped bits :D

Family consensus says retire now lol and I dont need any persuasion :) I’m signed off work until after Easter so plenty of time to try and sort work pension out hopefully

I need to retire to watch GoT lol .....sounds like a good enough reason in itself :)

    Crocus time......spring is here

  • Bless sucks about your skin.... i got given flamazine cream by the hosp and told to use if it felt itchy or sore but mine was actually fine and didn’t need. Have they offered you any additional creams? I’m someone who tans pretty much brown without any suntan lotion and my boob went a light brown colour can actually still see a very faint tan line still.

I had my dexa scan before starting the letrozole ( bones must be good cos the recall for that to b repeated is 2 yrs rather than 1. Then yes annual mammograms for 5 yrs then back to routine all being well. I too was a bit worried but got t b honest it was no bother. I was surprised how hyped I got wait for results mind. Guess cos I had no symptoms and was picked up at routine mammogram for diagnosis.

go on lass retire :-) I’ve not regretted or missed work one bit. What will you do when you retire..... owt you want yay! :-) mind you not till all the money for your sickness from work runs out lol.

Eee lass u are nearly done. Oh how far we come in a short time from diagnosis and it felt our world had ended eh x

  • Hello Ladies so lovely to see so many positives posts!  Babies house move treatment ending we are truly blessed!

    The Bad- None

    hugs to you all x

  • OK. Opened mouth and changed feet, again. Doing a sponsored walk on 2 March, nothing wrong with that I can hear some say, it’s five days after a house move. Note to self, learn to zip it.

  • How far you walking? Your be exhausted from moving let alone doing a walk! X

  • Evening ladies. Went to my first cardio exercise class after 1.5yrs and feel good for it altho a little sore.

Brother in law having op to remove brain tumour. Very nerve wracking day. Really hope it goes well.  Family wedding only couple of weeks away too. Not in the mood for it at all.

Sun was shining today and kinda warm so very nice.

Still searching for a job - apply to so many but nothing yet. Get calls for roles which are a long commute. Guess it's not time yet.

My radiated boob is still dark brown. It's been 20 months so guess my stripper days are over!!!! Got to have a laugh.
