The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Hi Dragonfly

Hypo attack’s in the middle of the night are very scary for everyone. I’ve been type 1 diabetic for 58 years and it’s happened to me only twice where paramedics were needed. I usually wake up before it gets too bad. I bet your husband will sleep for most of the day whilst you try ... with one eye open to make sure he’s ok.  Diabetics and their families just get on with it and as I have yfound with very little support from the medics. When I was undergoing my cancer treatment, my gp would not refer  me back to the hospital because my blood tests were good ( before the treatment). I see a specialist nurse at my gp who is only available one morning a week so she was neither use nor ornament.  I pretty much had to sort it out myself despite two serious incision infections and dangerously high blood sugar after my second op, Ah well after all these years I should know what I’m doing but it would have been better with a little support.

  • Ah honestly you will love it sundial. Exactly what I did ... new suite in sitting room nd old one in conservatory. U are right if it’s comfortable it will get used.... lots :-)

are u getting electrics in it? The lil ones have a play house... son in law asked daughter when he built it.... do u want electrics in it ....no.... are u sure..... yes.... last chance... no. Then the winter came.... can we put electrics in for light nd heating lol. She’s a woman her prerogative gets used all year round tho. X

  • Hi Sandra

There is already electricity down there, All the pond equipment runs off it and it has irs own supply and board. It needs upgrading, more sockets and lights changing but the supply is there so not a big job. I agree lighting is important and the opportunity for heating if necessary. Hubby is starting a train layout in there so electrics will be needed.  In truth I’ve been talking about converting it since the pond was built. However it was only when the idea of the train layout came up, he said yes, I’m paying for it though. How does that work? :-)

  • Hi Sandra x

a tree for all events...sounds great! Looking forward to seeing the finished tree :)

radiotherapy starts next Thursday ....also dentist same day :( ....need to do both :(

the wound is looking a lot better, much less angry looking and I can moisturise it now (was told to avoid that bit until antibiotics finished) so I’m sloshing it on and wondering how far to slosh!

Had physio invite today for shoulder prior to RT starting so that’s next Tuesday.

Will look into Netflix, thank you :)

    happy crafting day xx

  • Ha ha.... meh.... who cares why as long as he is lol ;-)

They built it top end of garden then decided wanted extension  ( on actual house not play house ;-) - so had to be moved further down a very long garden. Omg literally.....what a shift. 4 hydraulic pallet lifters and us all pushing and shoving....we did it and not one bit of damage-  the plaster didn’t even crack.

I have slept in it ... last summer. Girls wanted to sleep in it so gran obliged. 3 of us upstairs... all snuggly  lol.

Lil ones daddy is a joiner, plasterer, tiler nd mammy is an electrician.... this was a reigned in version ha ha x
