The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • HI all

I don't post here a lot but like to read all your encouraging posts. Today I received my results from wle and snb. They found a second tumor but took that out with clear margins and snb was also clear .I feel so relieved and like I can have a lovely Christmas with my family before chemo starts!

I hope everyone can have a lovely Christmas and i wish everyone luck with treatment/results xx

    Hi Cornishpastie,

It is so good to hear from you.

I am delighted to learn that you are doing so well, but what a blow it must be with your partner's diagnosis.

I hope that, between the two of you, you manage to reach the right decision about his treatment options by Thursday.

I can fully understand how difficult you find it to be on this site at the moment. Please don't worry about that. You have got to put your own interests first.

As you know, we are always here for you whenever you need us.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

Mismiz well ain’t that just the best news ever :-)  walk away from all things hosp nd enjoy the bestest is Santa time with your family. Deep breath lass and smile.

you have a lovely family sundial.... everything is easier when we all pull together ain’t it :-) I too have finally succumbed to a cold - lil ones have had an ongoing one for wks so done well till now but...sigh.

have as good a day as u can peeps x

  • Went to see Mum in hospital this morning. She has a bad UTI and an abscess on her leg so being pumped full of antibiotics. Didn't stay long as she was asleep and doesn't know me anyway. She looked comfortable for a 98 year old with dementia.

Second biopsy tomorrow but at least I know the results won't be in before Christmas.

Hopefully will get away to Brighton for Christmas to my son's even if it means leaving Mum in hospital. Between the hospital and the care home she is being looked after.

  • Good luck for tomorrow.... will b thinking of u. I know it can b difficult but once done close that door and leave it closed until after Xmas. Then wring every moment of u time out of the break.

Your mum is being looked after, you cannot do anything to help her (as u say- the hosp is taking care of that for u) and more importantly if your mum could counsel you as her, she would take your hand and tell you to go and spend some happy, loving family time.

    Take care lass ️ X

  • Bad, got a chest infection, yay! Third lot of antibiotics in five weeks. Hopefully no allergic reaction this time!

Good, sold house, put an offer in on another one and it’s been accepted!

  • Hey ladies how you all doing really?

Thanks for well wishes, Sandra and hope all you ladies with a cold, etc get over it quickly. Had my fair share this year so glad to see the back of 2018.

My son comes home for Xmas on Fri so am very excited. Will feel whole again with my little family unit complete again at home.

Hope you all keep well and warm.
