The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Just picked up a brilliant new doormat for house ... Game of Thrones themed and says...  Bend the Knee! Just need a pet dragon now, could keep it down the caving club lol! Or I could dress my silly cat up as a dragon :-)

  • Have they not even told u t come back to be checked up... seems as much use as sundials dr :-/ x

  • Got to go back Tuesday. Fourth visit in eight days.

  • Lol love GoT can’t wait for the last season :-)

I’ve just put my new door mat down in my porch - I however am such a cheapskate that mine is a sample square u see in carpet shops when choosing a carpet. My local shop pulls the old samples out nd sell them for £1 donation to Marie Curie. Perfect size for my porch lol. No GoT motif but u get what u pay for ha ha. X

  • Morning peeps

early post before head out for usual family Sunday breakfast at pub :-)

bad :- I have now lost 12 lb (I know this is good) I am away nd will be having full English breakfast, lunch and 3 course meal each day (not t mention the alcohol). Fair chance all the weight will go back on ...oh well :-)

good :- full day with family ️

Managed t get more wool  so finished the 2 jumpers for the lil ones.

Looking forward t spa break next wk (somewhere in the Peak District- daughter booked so not sure where lol) won’t b posting while away peeps but will as soon as I’m back :-)

Oh my when come back from my break it will b December...so Xmas tree will b going up! T think when I got my diagnosis I thought I wouldn’t make it to last Xmas never mind this one....the dark places our mind can take us if we let the what ifs take over. Live in the day everyone...ban the what ifs...they are not helpful.

Hope you all find something good in yr day ️

  • At least they are keeping an eye on it. Bless....toothache..u have my heartfelt sympathy. As a non clinician I vote for copious amounts of alcohol...u know to help cleanse the area (nd get drunk) might not solve the problem but.... yup just... but... ;-) x

  • Just moved in to my house in progress today, exhausted! Did it all myself. 2 car loads of stuff! Much happier now back to my own hubby and cat! House needs loads doing but it's home! Got scan results this Wednesday but hey if I've managed caving and climbing these past weeks I don't think much can stop me! So aliens watch out I can really kick your backsides!

    WQ xx

  • Hi Sandra, I was also diagnosed this year, similar cancer in left breast, lumpectomy and a few nodes removed. Results were good after op, all clear! After a break I had three weeks of radiotherapy, which was fine. I was a bit emotional along the way but with great support have got through the experience. I always tried to be positive and take each day as it came. Surround yourself with positive people who don't drain you.Be selfish sometimes and our yourself first, something most women are not very good at. Be kind to yourself, I will be praying for you and sending positive vibes xxx

  • Scared witless about my scan results tomorrow, so here goes sleepless night tonight! WQ xx

  • good luck tomorrow Warriorqueen. I’ll be thinking of you .
