The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • That stuff doesn’t bother my but the scraping and polishing was a bit of a ***ger this morning so she’s given me some specialised toothpaste to sort out the sensitivity ( gum wear I guess?!) but at least I didn’t have to pay for it!

Also had my flu jab altho I had to pay for it, ying, yang...

  • Afternoon peeps

  • I had a few bone scans and if they are the same as a bone density scan its just like an x-ray. You lie on a bed and the machine does its work.but not sure if its the same  :(

  • Thanks Sandra. .

Me at Zumba lol ,.. now that would be a site to scareeveryone .. and walking , brain says yes back says xxxx off .. if only I could knit ...

But seriously it's if there's a result that counts .. Annie been helping and says rip rap for young ones is run by one person alone .. and we keep sending them there .. there's a big hole for younger ones ... it has been noted .. and I'm sure it's doable .. wer got this little groop .. and look how this has helped .. so I'll keep on with the tooting front ... I'm sure someone will come through ..

I could now dismantle hoover and rebuild blindfolded lol.

  • Hi peeps

someone mentioned on another post the following:-

”surgeon said that radiotherapy makes the affected breast a change consistency and become less variable in size, i.e. if you put on or lose weight that breast won't vary. “

Just wondering if any of you ladies loosing weight have noticed this to be the case ( so wish I could answer my own query ;-)

i was never told this nd ....welll .... this is a good incentive in the weight loss stakes. Tbh reckon weight loss is a win, less noticeable breast size difference would b win win anyway :-)

  • Got a date now to see plastic surgeons to get my RT tattoos removed hooray!

Bad news I'm still worried about my ribs! Not as painful but still protesting!

    WQ xx

  • Still trying to get rid of mine, had about 8 laser treatments so far, not so much tattoo’s rather holes filled with dried ink!

  • Evening ladies. Tired today- rubbish weather as well.

I've lost quite a bit of weight but couldn't say about size of breast change or not. I had alot of swelling and my damaged boob is alot smaller than normal one. But that has only occurred over last few months.

Planning to lose more weight - have family wedding in March. Will let you know if either boob is skinnier!! Whenever I've done any arm exercises involving chest area my boobs have increased. If I had the energy I'd actually do some exercise and test my theory!

Tats don't really bother me - then again I am not able to look at that area of my body frequently or evwn sometimes. I hate seeing the scars from biopsy, op and radiation. But still remain the sexy babe I always was! Lol!
