The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Hi Liliana,

I was trying to not be critical in my post to Jbains, merely trying to correct what appeared to me to be a mistake in the description of red blood cells. As I have a bone marrow cancer, blood cells are somewhat of an issue for me and while I note the support for Jbains input, my input is seemingly of no benefit to anybody.

Has it occurred to anybody that, had I been a worrying type person with no knowledge, I might have been misled by what appeared to me to be, inaccurate information.

Anyway, again, I'm sorry if I've upset anyone.

    Best Regards

    Taff

  • Dear taff

No offense was taken. I only wish you the best.

I have been anaemic since birth so am knowledgeable about alot of things to do with many topics. How we all read and interpret things is also individual to us.

Let's all drop it and move on ladies to our normal supportive chats to one another. I also am very thankful for the support on here from you ladies. A lovely little group where all are welcome..

  • Hey ladies. Hope you're all doing ok.

I have officially caught another cold - 3 people in the office and hubby had it last week so sharing germs! Not nice in this extreme heat but it'll pass. What's a cold eh?

Hope Sandra is having a fab time - do miss her.

    How's the skin Cornish?

Take care ladies and keep well.x

  • Well afternoon peeps ... the wanderer returneth lol... not long back. Had such a fab time stayed a couple more nights.

just caught up on posts oh er mrs ...kicked off a tad for a bit I see :-0  ;-)  :-) At the start of the whole convo we all missed one important post so hope it’s ok for me to post it now.... Hello [@Taff]‍ so glad you have decided to join in our thread - u r our first bloke to do so :-) a warm welcome to you. I do so hope you will feel free to continue to pop by and share, join in or to just shoot the breeze.

Daughters just rung ...she nd her  fellow mums at school have a Facebook group.. where they all essentially gossip nd then gripe about the school lol. Anywhose latest one is the school have sent out a letter to say at the end of term no thank you cards are gifts are to be given to staff. All the changes the school is currently making they say is because of a new scheme around poverty proofing. I was actually surprised this wasn’t already in place but more from government policies perspective. In the Nhs by the time I left ours went from £10 to £5 to all gifts must b declined. The mums are apparently divided on it :-)

Just discovered a new slant on eating hot cross buns (I know ....they r  still being sold..yes!) anywhose brought some home went eat (I like butter nd jam on mine) opened my pot of jam nd it was making a valiant attempt at making penicillin.... gutted. Found some  strawberry Treat I had bought before hols t go on lil ones ice cream ....on the bun it went....cracking - sticky finger goodness :-)

Oh well...Gonna paint my outside  small table nd chairs.... they have pealed.....sigh (I’d rather b sitting reading nd drinking wine at it lol).

Whats everyone else up to today? X

  • Hi Dizzle82, I’m sorry to hear that you’re not feeling good. Just think that this will cure you. I haven’t been through the chemo yet I don’t know if I’m gonna get chemo but I heard is not fun. I hope it goes away quick. Maybe if you try to eat something like chicken soup ?  I have no experience in this  yet but I’m wishing you the best and I hope you feel better soon I’m praying for you here goes a big hug to you .
