The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Unfortunately if I don’t time the costa right it makes me feel more sick.:-))

I hate the blood thinner jabs more. And the compression stockings......but needs must. They’re not the worst things ive dealt with recently.

  • Don’t get me wrong ... I know nothing about chemo but heck when I was sent for an MRI scan my letter from the hosp had 2 leaflets in 1 what an MRI is and what it is used for with frequently asked questions nd 2 what to expect when u have an MRI scan and frequently asked questions.. nd that was just for a scan! I find it hard to believe they don’t supply leaflets on chemo... could b wrong but just doesn’t seem right bless x

  • I know. I got all the booklets about cancer but nothing in depth about actual chemo. Just an invitation to a chemotherapy pre assessment which is basically a seminar on what to expect but that’s on the 12th of June when my first chemo session is the 7th lol x

  • Sigh... ok... so.. totes up to you but wonder if you want give your BC Nurse you have been allocated a ring. Make a list of questions you may have and if she has access to any supporting leaflets on chemo she could post out as the pre   Chemo seminar is after you actually start treatment.

Bless... a little heads up would go a long way x

welllll... had breakfast- in garden - very relaxing . Looked around nd loads and loads of weeds!!!!! How can this b - its 95% hard landscaped. The weeds r in the slate... everywhere.... sigh. So just finished weeding ( I hate any type of gardening) 1 nd a half bin bags full! I don’t remember it ever being like this when I worked.. a few weeds yes but..... wonder if just didn’t sit in garden as much so didn’t notice. Anywhose.. done now. On a bright note it looks much better nd new parasol looks perfect - never had one before nd thinking of getting a smaller one for the little table on the decking lol. X
