The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Ha ha Sandra! You do make me giggle!

You all are such a blessing.

I'm going to L.A. and am knackered. My first outing in a week. Got in touch with work and they have agreed 10-4pm with wed off so that avoids rush hrs on trains (and germs) and a break mid week to help. They have been so lovely to me.

Greatest thing is I've lost weight and don't wanna have soup again for a long time as that's all I could manage and bourbon biscuits. Don't worry will put it back on as my love for cake is always there!

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the well wishes last week.

    Any one watching Eurovision?

  • Productive day, garden almost finished! Chocolate Baileys, yum!!!

  • Evening all ... our song this year is the best one for ages ... don't matter though, we could have Robby Williams and we'd still get nowhere ... wonder why ?   ; ))

    Chocolate baileys O M G now your talking ....

  • Yes I agree - our song has been the best so far but some silly guy went on stage and took the microphone from SuRie. Bad security! UK never get the votes so we know she wint win. Guy from Austria had good voice tho. So my daughter has convinced me to go to Shawn Mendes's concert....
  • Behave yourself young lady!  He would be one hell of a toy boy!

  • Sorry he's a bit too young! He's same age as my son but he is a very good looking boy!

I prefer my toy boys to be about 30, very rich, dark hair and blue eyes...

  • You like the Irish colouring then? It is a very attractive combination. There was a a trainee gp at my doctors many years ago, jet black hair, gorgeous blue eyes and Irish. Hmmmm

  • Evening Ladies Nice to see still talking about toy boys!! I have had a good day with my sons, having the oldest one home has been a real boost specially after a few low days. Mums even made another chocolate cake for me!!! Now off to bed as missed my afternoon nap and tired out night night ladies xx
  • Morning everyone :-)

aw thank you jbains :-) wow now that’s how employers should respond ain’t it...if only all were like that eh.

eee Rileyroo I was once in my “fluffy” dressing gown nd knock at door - peeped out- as if...handsome fireman standing (they were checking street for smoke alarms) toot suite goes to run upstairs to pull on Sunday best clothes nd spit on hair t flatten it -  slipped on 1st stair nd did that thing where both hands slapped the stair in front - hard - me toes bent up over nd I hit me chin as I landed. Another door knock.... he’s gonnna leave if I don’t hurry!! Snap decision... open door as is. So... I guided him around my house in “fluffy” dressing gown, dragged through hedge backwards hair, hobbling cos toes protesting at being bent wrong way, red tingling hands from stair slap and carpet burn chin - very red. I think he may have been a bit scared cos scarpered off faster then I believe his normal exit speed was. Still made my day heh heh :-)

Ooo  best get ready ... off for breakfast... speak later peeps x

  • Oh ladies I just have to tell you this!!! I went to work to say hello and to get some fresh air after being in last 10 days as I pulled into car park I saw blue flashing lights, thinking ambulance but there was a fire engine and firemen showing children round the fire engine! Just had to do a slow walk pass them!! Think it made my low blood pressure rise a bit!!!! ;-)
