The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • The good, carvery tea with cousin, she’s looking really well!

The bad, I can contribute to the National grid as I’m wind powered tonight!

  • Night ladies, don't let the bed bugs bite. I will probably have sleepless night tomorrow as going to see that horror film quiet place. It may be even more scary listening to my husband describing tech tiling issues! I don't do decorating lol! Xx

  • Morning peeps

ha ha Rileyroo...sadly same effect on me lol ;-) love a Carvery mind.. hope your cousin is doing well.

ah Chrissie how awful for u all. Thankfully those with the disease do not know. Slowly rips who they are away from them. A nod t you and all families who continue to b there for the loved ones affected by this, with acknowledgement to those who with a heavy heart find it too painful to continue seeing there loved ones like this. How are you doing in yourself?

checking in with the post op posse - Hows you all doing?

jbains great t hear how understanding your new work place is with:-) Rileyroo after all this time where u work and their attitude is terrible. Goes to show we never know the true colours of people until the chips are down..... sigh.

Hope u had a good night sleep last night warrior...if I went t see a horror then home nd bed I would b leaving lights on nd b wide eyed at every creak nd noise there was lol. Optimum time for me t watch a horror is 10:00 a.m plenty of daylight left to climatise to what I’ve seen lol

ok so Bad:- the daughters dog done a runner over the fence nd into the ploughed muddy farmers field...sigh. Stands looking at me from a distance when called.. she is mocking me! I’m up the eyes from walking to her nd picking her up nd carrying her back ( luckily she is a small dog).

The good:- walk to school today spotted a birds nest in the tree so pointed out t lil ones...mammy bird sitting on nest... lovely convo with the lil ones about it ️.

Have as good a day as u can peeps x

  • Ooh I went to see quiet place. Very jumpy but I liked it. It was different. So no popcorn unless you want it to go flying when you jump! Well got my scan on knee results - got rheumatoid arthritis. Am not taking any more drugs. Gonna go down physio route. Joys of getting old. Sun is shining but a bit nippy down here. Enjoy your day ladies and take it easy.x
  • Some ballet classes could help with joint pain and flexibility x

  • I’ve heard that ballet and yoga can help arthritis- if me I’d try that cos o how I hate physio. Travel there, wait for ages in waiting room then in 10 mins nd the journey back home....with a see u next wk..... nearly 1/2 a day for 10 mins...sigh. Always felt a total waste of time but..... just how I feel lol. Sorry t anyone reading this who is a physiotherapist:-0

Eee had a letter from my car insurance to say they under charged me by £80 at last renewal. They said nothing will change now but when my renewal is due again it may seem to jump up by more than expected due to this.... ha ha ok. X

  • Switch insurance companies when the time comes?!

I’m trying to reve myself up to try body balance classes, a mix of yoga and gentle movement. Will need a bun to look forward to!

  • Lol.. I got given a yoga exercise dvd...so thought I’ll give that a go. Did 10 mins of copying then said to lie on back and close eyes nd started some breathing exercises... I fell asleep ha ha this sadly a true story:-) x

  • I tried Pilates, couldn’t move comfortably for a few days afterwards.

  • Funny thought for the day ...us older lasses all in a line doing ballet lol ... and warrior queen , saying ..keep up ladies only another hour to go ... come on now alegro (term for bright, fast, or brisk movement) arabesque   (standing on one leg, while other leg extended, straight behind the body)   ... soon as she looks away, we'd be all in cafe with a latte and cake ...

Bad ... my scar is looking red and feeling tender ... it's like de-ja-vu on last op that left a hole ... ; ((           So Drs tomoz for anti biotics ... oh woe is me ....

Good ... that picture of us lot doing ballet ... and a Jim jam day ...   ; ))
