Hi I had womb cancer 2 years ago. After hysterectomy given all clear but in July I was hit with a bombshell- it is all over my pelvis, spine and lung. Chemo was arranged and is due to start next week. I have been so positive until now. I have started getting breathless and this makes me panic, I don't want to eat , feel tired all the time and don't even want to go out any more. Is this a common reaction?

Anyone got any ideas on how to overcome getting breathless easily?

    Hi Hazel.

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I am so sorry to hear about your latest diagnosis. It is perfectly normal to experience some of the symptoms you describe with a cancer diagnosis. Is there any possibility that you might be slightly depressed since you were given this news? If this is so, mention it to your consultant or your GP. They can prescribe some mild medication, which will help.

I am glad to hear that you have decided on chemo. This should slow down the rate of growth of any metastases. If the breathlessness is a real problem, you can be prescribed inhalers to use.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on. There is always someone here whenever you want to talk.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
