A year ago diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the oropharynx (too large to operate) having spent two years and five unnecessary operations just to try and get a diagnosis. A second opinion got the diagnosis above and radiotherapy 30 fractions and chemo was the treatment.
12 months later diagnosis of cancer of the tongue, base, and soft palate and proposed operation to remove all of these including the full tongue and radiotherapy and chemo no longer possible.
Has anyone experienced radiotherapy treatment first before an operation to remove the full tongue and what about the quality of life after an operation of this magnitude?
20% odds that this will cure the cancer has anyone beaten those odds?
Thank you!
