Hi Buck
have just come across your post and my husband was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in December 2015. Following surgery (tonsillectomy) he underwent 5 cycles if chemo and 30 fractions if VMAT radiotherapy over 6 weeks. One thing I will say us that he also had secondaries in his lymph nodes in his neck.Im not sure if that's why he had the chemo as well as the radiotherapy. I would suggest you speak to your oncologist and just ask the question as to why you are only having radiotherapy.
Wishing you loads of luck and feel free to ask any questions.
best wishes

Hello Emma.
I also had cancer in lymph nodes and had 20 removed. Did your husband have surgery to remove LN and tonsil before treatment w chemo and radiation? I was told the surgery for me made it so I didn't need chemo. Also any tips on relieving any symptoms of radiation? And I hope and pray he is cancer free now.
Hi Buck
My hubby had the chemo radiation first but the post treatment PET CT showed it was still active in his lymph nodes so he then had a neck dissection and had 20 nodes removed. Id be happy to give you some tips so feel free to private message me and we can have a chat. My hubbys been in remission for a year now so fingers crossed.
