Stay Strong

I have a busy day and come home to my lovely neighbour mowing my back lawn.  I chastise him and say  I would have got round to it, he knew I was struggling and came in whilst I was out.  These kindnesses make my day.  I think hubby is not looking well and voice my concerns.   Nope he says he's fine but a little niggle tells me otherwise.   I get up this morning and he admits he's not good..  appointment at Doctors and he has another infection.  I am being picked up by a friend to go to Wynyard Hall and gardens, the day is glorious and she has the soft top down,we arrive and I look like Bridget Jones after her ride in an open top car!  We have home made cake and coffee and meander the beautiful gardens looking at the pumpkins, sweetcorn and variety of flowers.  I suddenly spot a flower that hubby and I keep seeing  on our drives and it's driving him insane not knowing its name.  A lady hears us talking, takes a photo, Googles it and walks back to tell me, it's  called the common tansy. People are so thoughtful and kind!  Back home hubby laughs at the state of my hair, saying I look like I have been pulled through a hedge backwards,  charming!!  I tell him the plants name, lovely he says and promptly falls asleep on his sheepskin in the sunny conservatory.   Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon, I want my normal hubby back.

My week-end is going good I don't have my son with me a friend of mine took him for a few day's, so finally I have time for myself...it's been a long time coming. Woke up at 08:30 went to buy a few things (cream for my coffee and other odd things) came back home and took a nap, in fact I just woke up.

  • Hi Merino, I'm pleased you're  having a decent weekend.  It's nice to have some time to oneself.

  • I've just checked my face book page to see who's where and who's at home and I have friends requests from men That don't live in England and I'm baffled why the sudden interest,  then it hits me my profile picture is no longer a puppy but me drinking wine (surprise surprise ) on a night out with the girls, so everyone I've "pulled!" Not bad for coming up seventy methinks.  Obviously I'm not replying as I have my man here with me in real life.  Waiting for the three Stockleys to arrive.  Food shopping done, beds made presents ready and I can't wait to have snuggle,s and cuddles all round.  It will be an early start tomorrow as Ella loves coming into my bed, lying nose to nose and telling me all her secrets.  So I'm signing off until they go home.  Take care all of you.  X

  • Hi Carol,  Yep, that will do it, make us feel good though doesn't it even if your not interested.  Have a wonderful time with your family and enjoy all those snuggles and cuddles. Take care...xx

  • Hello Carol, Sue and Merino; this is becoming quite a hive of activity.   My pc has speeded up (only slightly) as one of my neighbours took a look at it for me.  It really needs replacing as I have had it for years but I like the big screen as I have played computer games since they first started out.  It's amazing what I can find to do rather than the things I should be doing.  I had a letter from the tax people, quite lengthy, saying - I think - that I paid too much tax (£1.50) two years ago.  But I was not really sure what it said so I wrote back to them asking them to give me some information in simple words of one syllable.  I have now got a further letter which is even more incomprehensible than the first one - do they do it on purpose?  Sue, sorry your husband is having a rough time.  Leg still not good, back to hydrotherapy tomorrow and I will see what the physiotherapist says about the likelihood of this therapy doing any good.  It's a nice warm pool so I don't really mind going if some good may come out of it.  Annie

  • Hi Annie and Merino, Not sure what type of pc you have but if its a desktop, you can get quite big screens for those.  It doesn't seem to matter where the tax dept is they do seem to like baffling us with their letters.  Hopefully you have paid too much so in for a small return, getting it back is so much more preferable than paying them more. Not sure what happened with your leg but hopefully it will improve soon.  Hydrotherapy is great, I was going twice a week, seems to be a bit hit and miss at present though with hubby.  With luck I'll get there tomorrow.  I have arthritis, had a knee replacement on one two years ago, and was due to have the other done earlier this year but had to cancel it, one of us had to be able to drive. Hubby has had a rough trip since he was diagnosed just before Christmas.  Spent about 3 1/2 months in hospital in all, and if anything could go wrong it has.  He is now terminal and going through his 2nd lot of chemo.  He did come home from hospital though today and seems a little better, so thats something.

Merino, I loved your clip of Simon and Garfunkel, I though I posted that the other night but can't find it anywhere.  Hope you are doing well.

Take care and stay positive and well.  Sue

  • Hi AusSue

Your Screen as nothing to do with your PC unless it's a all in one, are you sure that your friend did good tune up, did he open it ? it may be just your hardrive you know.

  • Hi Merino,  Thanks for replying.. I'm sure Annie will will see our replies.  How are you doing?

    Sue

  • Hello Sue

I'm waiting to be operated on for the third time this year alone

I had colon cancer stage 4, I have been operated on for the heart in January and now I'm waiting to be operated for bladder cancer :(

    Merino

  • Hello Merino.

You must be very anxious waiting to be operated on for bladder cancer. Have you had any notification as to when this might be? All this waiting must be very stressful along with all your previous health problems and ongoing difficulties with your son. Hope you get some clarity soon. Lynne
