  • Hi Jolamine,

Ye gods, it never ends for you, does it?

Obviously by posting this I ent ded. Back home after what was a comparatively minor op. Feeling bruised and sore of course and it knocks me back to square one regarding my bowel. Chicken soup and ensure  for now until I can slowly start to introduce other foods.

Hope you can start getting good news for a change.

    Best Regards

    Hi Taff,

I'm glad that all went well for you today, but don't envy your diet for the next wee while.

Despite the news that i need  an eye op, I consider that it is good news, as something can be done about it.

Like you, I try to find the positive in each mew ailment. There are so many more in the world who have a lot more than I do to contend with.

I hope that it won't take you too long to get back to a normal diet and to feel a little  less battered and bruised.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hey Yo,

Glad to hear you're in remission, hope the lesion turns out to be nothing to be concerned about. I had a nodule in my lung but a scan 6 months later showed it had gone.

Let us all know how it goes.

  • Hi Jolamine,

Latest stoma, though not an 'ideal' one, is holding up well and I have to say I'm content with it. I'm back eating now, which is supposed to help with everything but having said that, my diet's still fairly restricted. This is mainly due to personal taste, I've never been much of a fruit or veg person. I've put on a couple of pounds and don't need the Ensure drinks now.

The thing I'm doing now is trying to balance things, the amount of water I drink, the amount of laxative I take and what I actually eat all have an effect and everything takes a different amount of time to transit the bowel. Not onerous at all and time will see it all come together.

Had a couple of seconds of 'feeling good' the other day, something I've not had for a good few months. Noticeable because of their rarity.

As ever, thanks for your thoughts.

    Hi Dave,

This is great news. I hope that the pet scan and pancreatic tests turn out ok and that you can soon start on radiotherapy.

    Kind regards,

    Hi All,

My wife has been going through a raft of tests and now they suspect Myeloma, she has raised blood levels and now they are doing specific tests for this. I think the biggest scare here is the word incurable there seem to be life prolonging treatments rather than curing.

    Any advice is appreciated

  •

    Hi Conjam,

I am sorry to hear about your wife's symptoms. Try not to get too far ahead of yourself here. Trust in her care team and they will do all that they can for her. I hope that her tests indicate the reason for the raised blood levels and that she can get started with treatment soon.

Please keep in touch and let us know how she is getting on. We are always here for you both.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thank you very much we are getting there slowly she had smear results back and colonoscopy results back and they are clear. It seems to be a rule out scenario but this site and peoples lived experiences here have provided invaluable information. Fingers crossed the blood tests come back with a good outcome.

    Thank you

  •

Here's hoping that she gets more favourable results along the way.

    Please keep in touch.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
