Depression

Hi Im 24 and have fallen depressed since my Diogenes. If I could get any support that will be great.

    Hi Akbar,

Have you mentioned your depression to your consultant or even to your GP? They can prescribe medicine and various classes to help you overcome this.

Make a list of how you feel and how long you have felt like this for so that your doctor can appreciate what you are going through.

I hope that it won't be long before you are feeling better in yourself.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine

    Hi Akbar,

I’m glad to hear that you have made an appointment to see your GP. Write a list of your symptoms so that your GP knows exactly how you feel.

I hope that you can get something to help you out.

Keep in touch and let us know how things go.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Akbar,

I am glad that you have seen your GP, even though he wasn’t keen to send you for counselling yet. Are you still attending hospital for your cancer and what type of cancer do you have? If so, they should also be able to refer you. Do you have a Maggie’s centre anywhere near you? They also offer counselling and they are all free. There are many other support groups depending upon whereabouts in the country you live. Ask your cancer care team about them.

The feelings you describe are all perfectly normal. Most of us experience a raft of different emotions. You will probably feel exactly the same in 4 week’s time. Don’t be afraid to return to your GP if things don’t improve for you. Crying can be good for you as it is a great release valve.

Thinking of you and hoping that you can soon get some help.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Akbar,

It has been a long time since I last heard from you and I'm just wondering how you are getting on?
