Dad has lung Cancer

Hi everyone,

My name is Emilia, I'm 23 years old and on  Friday (June 16th) my dad (which is 57 years old) was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer (he was a smoker for over 30 years) From what we know it has spread to the liver and the Thraquea. We are waiting to see some results about if cancer has spread to the brain. My dad doesn't  know the results yet, he has been feeling really down recently so we want to show him the results in front of the oncologist (the appointment is this Wednesday).

I am so afraid I can't even put my feelings into words. Please let me know any advice or how I can feel better. This is by far the worst experience I have ever lived.

I live in Ecuador and the medical treatment here is not the best. Where have you relatives have been treated?

Please let me know.

Sincerely,

Emilia

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Emilia.

I'm really sorry to hear your dad has been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer which has spread to the liver and trachea but I'm glad you've joined as there are many members here who have been in a similar position with their parents and loved ones and I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

Many have found sharing their thoughts and feelings on the forum to be a good way of coping so do continue posting here as our community are very supportive and will do what they can to help.

    Kind regards,
