  • hi

I struggled all through the summer too.Head scarfs and wigs are hot and itchy.

Find something soft and light to wear on your head such as a sleeping cap thats about all I could cope with some days.

Meanwhile your scalp will settle it does itch and burn as you loose your hair but once its completely gone it feels better and less irritating

When its very warm try and leave your head uncovered as muxh as possible indoors

    hope this helps

  • When it happened to me in 2010 (I'm still here!!) I went on Ebay and bought 13 wigs (cheap) in many different styles and colours, and wore a different one every day. To stop them blowing off (the ultimate embarrassment) I used toupee tape. You can get cream or tabs from your GP or use pure Aloe gel for the prickly heat, and while it is bothering you silk scarves are very comfortable to wear. You could ask your chemo team also for something for the prickly heat. You often get rashes with chemo, but they pass.

I wish you all the luck in the world and you will get through this!

    Lots of love xxxx
