Bladder cancer

Hi, my father was diagnosed with bladder cancer 2 weeks ago, it was a terrible shock for us all, was not expecting this!! However, I was not prepared to sit back and watch him  wither away, I sat up all night googling the alkaline diet, apparently cancer cannot live in an PH alkaline level body!! It cuts out sugar, dairy and wheat, the diet consists of mainly fruit and veg, almond or coconut milk, plenty of turmeric, Himalayan pink salt, quinoa, ect ect, list goes on, in the last week dad has become more independent with a narural energy!! I discussed this diet with dad beforehand, he said what have we got to loose!! At this point I will try anything, I have a lot  of family and friends support in many different ways, I'm thinking positive at all times, although I'll admit it's hard at times,, I hope this is of some help to others n the same boat were in at the moment, , please take the time to gain knowledge of the alkaline diet, it may work it may not, what other choice have we got!!!

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat stormdance.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad's bladder cancer diagnosis. I noticed you mentioned that you have been researching the alkaline diet and just wanted to share an article with you on our science blog which debunks the myths around this. You can read more about this here

I'm glad your dad seems to have gained more energy but trying new diets without discussing it with your dad's medical team can be dangerous so do make sure you and your dad make them aware of what you are doing. Our cancer nurses have commented on the forum before about the alkaline diet which I thought may be useful for you to read as well. Again just click here to see their advice.

    Kind Regards,
