    Hi Mattlynne,

Welcome to the forum. You will find this site a great support in your cancer journey and it is helpful to be able to discuss matters with other people who have experienced similar problems first hand. If you have good family support this is great, but it is good to discuss things with others rather than putting further pressure on loved ones.

You do not say what type of cancer you have or when you were diagnosed. It can be helpful to let us know so that someone with the same type of cancer can give you their experience.

I have had two bouts of primary breast cancer. The first time was in 2010 when I had a lumpectomy. A year later I had a second primary and had a double mastectomy. You can follow my story by looking back at some of my earlier posts.

This is a horrible disease yes, but it doesn't always have to be a death sentence. It is always a terrible shock to recieve such a diagnosis, but with the passage of time you learn to accept the inevitable.

I am sure that others will come along to chat with you soon  and look forward to supporting you along your journey.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
