Im 38 and was diagnosed in Oct 2016 with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma stage 1. After several months of going to drs asking what was wrong with me it got to a stage where I was very sick and I went private to be found with a SVC obstruction in the second main artery from heart to brain completely blocked which explained all the symptoms of lumps bumps in neck, breathlessness, dizzy spells, even depression and fatigue. After an urgent CT scan it was found I had a very large tumour in the top half of my chest cavity. The effect of the swelling in my face and neck even concerned the professor I went to see and he was shocked it even got to this stage. After two biopsys, many tears and darkest of dark days I'm through it, I'm officially PET negative and in remission. As precaution I'm to have three weeks of radiotherapy daily then I'm back to work phased and back to enjoying my life. I was under the care of Christies and an amazing oncologists and received R-Chop 6 doses which where very hard going after the fourth treatment BUT I smiled through it all having a positive healthy mind daily which I believe helped me get through it. Don't be afraid is my peace of advice as all you have to do is pick up a phone, talk to your nurse a friend or even a neighbour and you'll be so surprised they will drop everything just to hear you out. I send you love and hope to anyone that is reading this. Xx
