Kicked it hopefully ?

Hi iam Debs i have just been through bowel cacer, had radiotherapy first then op to remove the cancer, was told it was all gone but needed chemo for 6 months as 2 of my lymph nodes were cacerous, finished my chemo January but still stuggleing to come to terms with it. Nice to talk to someone in the same boat.

  • Give yourself some time to process this Debs. My husband had cancer and our motto was to allow ourselves time to talk about it and cry. It's amazing how being sad for a while made us feel better after.

I hope you keep well and keep chatting. A problem shared and all that!

  • Just had 6 cycles for Lymphoma, waiting for final scan and results.

The last few months have been an emotional rollercoaster, trying to keep an active social life going has been such a struggle that I've had to give up and only go out when I have to.

I'm told this is quite common and will pass.

I'm now engaged with a local cancer support group, wish I had earlier, they may have helped me avoid the dark feelings I've been having.

I've also seen my GO who has given me antidepressants that will help me sleep at night, that's been eluding me for too long thus not refreshing me.

I'm also awaiting an assessment by a local MHT.

I would suggest you see your GP, and engage with a support group.

Good luck and hope you get the all clear soon.

    Tills
