Debbie, good luck with the chemo.
It affects people differently, some have severe nausea and side effects, while for others it isnt too bad. You medical team will definetely be able to help with your concerns. Discuss it with them, and I am certain they will be able to help.
Ancedotally I have also heard that crushed fresh ginger made into a tea also helps with the nausea. I can't vouch for it, but it can't hurt.
Prayers and wishes sent your way. Keep your chin up, and remember This too shall pass.
Hi deb
i had cisplatin for throat cancer
i was in one day a week for 8 hours
i found it really boring during the day so taking in lots to do and watch if you are on the 8 hour stint
i had a whole chemists shop of drugs to take after chemo, which I took rigidily for 5 days after.
i went in on a Friday came out buzzing through all the steroids and was vertically up all weekend but them slowly came down over the next couple of days to which wednesdays and Thursdays ...it was rough but not such a bad ride
i had six weeks of it and it's a progressive thing and I'm not sure if it's the chemo or the radiation that makes you tired, but yep it's tiring
on the basis you are having something else too I would assume you are not having the same treatment
my advice is take all the drugs (regardless of how horrible they are) at the right times, if you keep to it and it's not working speak to your team straight away as they can easily change a drug and get you back on track
keep us updated and hope it all goes well
