Any breast cancer success stories!?

anyone got any success stories of beating breast cancer??

were waiting for biopsy results and treatment plan on Monday for my wife and could really do with some positivity!

trying out best and it's probably mainly me who is struggling most.

were hopeful it's caught early though

  • Sorry to have not replied sooner; my daughter has had endometriosis surgery this week so life has been busy! I believe that all breast cancer units work to targets and that your wife should be progressing along the treatment route pretty rapidly by now - I do hope that all is going well and that you are both keeping positive. Yes, my biopsy showed that the lump was malignant so the surgeon took away a proportion of the surrounding area as a precautionary measure. I really don't know how they can be sure something is malignant but I am just grateful that they are so dedicated and skillful. Your wife will certainly be put on drugs ( I am on letrozole) for 5 - 10 years. The drugs make my joints ache a bit but as long as they keep any other cancer from developing that's fine by me. i honestly think that the best way forward is to try to stop worrying, easier said than done, and to adopt the mindset 'we are going to beat this'. Oh, by the way, the hospital follow up may include opportunities to take up free swimming classes or some other form of exercise - go for it - get fit and keep smiling. Wishing you both all the very best. Pipm

  • Hi pipm

we have moved on a bit now.

shes booked in for a mastectomy and reconstruction on the 20th April!

they said a lumpectomy was possible but with the amount they were going to take my wife's opted for the mastectomy.

Our only worry now is the wait until the 20th!!

but generally we are content with how it's going.

  • I'm looking for more breast cancer success stories to keep us going if anyone has one!

    thanks
