open radical nephrectomy kidney removal tomorrow morning and im terrified and dont want my family to see how frightened i am because i dont want to upset them anymore than they are.

I had my operation on the 9th March, my consultant said it was of his most challenging operations.
The kidney tumour weighed 3kg and they had to remove my spleen as well, I spent 4 days in intensive care before going on to the ward then they discovered I had fluid under my ribs so had intravenous antibiotics so ended up staying in hospital for 2 weeks, I came out of hospital on the 22nd March.
I am recovering but feeling tired all the time ,my family have been amazing with support and practical things.
I am waiting for the results of the pathology of the kidney and tubes to see if I need any more treatment, I have to have a bone scan but they can't do that till 6 weeks after the operation because of the scar tissue ,
I would like to say all the staff from surgeons to cleaners were amazing and attentive, a big thankyou to them
I have had the pathology results , which they cut the tubes off the kidney and they are clear of cancer, but where the kidney tumour was attatched to my ribs at the back and the had to cut it from the ribs they are not sure they have taken it all .
So good news on one part but worrying on the other, I have the bone scan on 5th May and should get the results 10days later .
I am recovering well from the surgery and feeling like myself.
