Localised prostate cancer

I have just been told that my cancer is localised and I have to consider options - active surveillance, surgery or radiotherapy -  my Gleason is 7 and Psa 9 - inclined towards, leaving it alone but not sure - any opinions/suggestions very welcome!  Thanks and all the very best struggling with cancer.

  • Hello there,

sorry to hear about your cancer. In my opinion I would take no chances with this diagnosis. I would have surgery and whatever else they can give you. Keep asking questions, and don't worry about who you might upset. Your life is precious. Follow your instincts. I know you probably just wish it would all go away, it's a hard time right now. If your not happy get a second opinion and good luck with whatever you decide.

I am only basing my opinion on my fathers journey with prostate cancer. He accecpted everything a clinician told him, and I regret now not having second opinions. Remember you in control, stay positive and well informed.

    Kind regards

  • Hi - thanks very much for your reply - I think you may well be right regards surgery. - still a bit confused but will decide soon.

I really appreciate you taking the  time to respond - All the beat
