I like you have recently joined this group and have also recently recovered from lung cancer.
I found it a strange experience, it has taken me many months to accept it is was me they were talking about every time I saw a Consultant. It has still only just sunk in, and I've got back a degree of normality in life.
Try to to accept it and if you are able, move on as quickly as possible, it's not easy, but it can be done, as many have shown on these pages.
I wish you all the best for a fast recovery, if there is anything good about the whole experience, it is an appreciation of everything and everyone around you.
I was also from London and moved to the Midlands around thirty five years ago with a job for a Company I was working for at the time.
Have a fast recovery Mick and my hope is, we will be here many years yet. After all, we are fortunate compared with some who are very very young with terminal Cancer, makes me really upset.
Good luck for a full recovery, I just wanted to say you can and will get through it, threre may be some rocky days on and off, but you will return to the good times, they are within grasp if only we stretch out after them.
