At a loss

Hi, my father was diagnosed with nasal cancer last year. Unfortunately it has spread to his bones and is not curable. Recently he went to see his oncologist and they told him that they will only give him chemo if he's in pain or if the cancer grows. Would this be classed as palliative chemotherapy?

  • Hello Billy and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear that your father was diagnosed with nasal cancer last year which has spread to his bones. I think your dad's oncologist is in the best position to answer your question so if possible maybe you and your dad could book an appointment to see them so you can discuss this in more detail? In the meantime I would recommend giving our cancer nurses a quick call as they may be able to help as well. Their number is 0808 800 4040, which is free to call from a UK landline, and are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope this helps and you are able to get the answer to your question soon.

Best wishes to you and your dad,
