Hello Mogaley,
Thank you for posting a question. I am sorry to learn that your mother has non Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).
It is difficult for me to answer specific questions about your mum’s situation as I am not directly involved in her care and do not have her full information. There are different types of NHL and I am unsure which type your mum has. Also to a large extent what happens will depend on how well she has responded to the treatment she has already received. If she has had a good response, then the tumours may not regrow. But if there is still obvious lymphoma present then it will eventually start to grow again. But this might not happen right away.
It is really only your mum’s medical team who can reliably answer questions about what the future holds for her. But even the most experienced doctor cannot say for sure how the NHL will behave as it can be different in individual people. Your mum’s medical team will not be able to tell you anything unless they have her permission.
It is also very difficult for me to suggest if there are any other treatments that your mum can have, as again this will depend on her general health and the type of lymphoma that she has. Radiotherapy can be given to shrink very large tumors and relieve symptoms, so this might be a possibility. But once again it is really only your mum’s own medical team who can answer questions like this.
I am sorry that I cannot be more specific. If you have any other questions you are welcome to get back to us. If you would like to telephone our freephone number is 0808 800 4040. We are here from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 5pm.
Kind regards,
Jean
