Very anxious

Hi I am in remission from Cancer since July last year.I feel so very thankful and thank God that he has helped me through this. But just can't stop stressing and thinking it will come back and spread, can't seem to get these thoughts out of my head, seem to be making myself more and more stressed . Sheila .

  • know how you feel we waste so much time with these thoughts ,all I can say to you is what my husband says to me, that there are new treatments coming out all the time so we have to think in a positive way and try to realise that there so many of us today living with the help of new drugs the winter doesn't help when we feel anxious but spring is round the corner hopefully we might feel in a brighter mood and then we will embrace being alive and well.
  • Hello Tina66

That's great news that your cancer is in remission but sorry to hear about your anxiety.

After my cancer treatment and surgery I got depressed and spoke to a counsellor.  She explainethat it's not until after the treatment has stopped and we're left on our own , that the horror of of experience hits us.

I think it's very normal to fear it coming back but you don't want to spoil your life worrying . My hospital had counselling facilties- might be good to talk to someone. Robert.  There are also I be leisure email courses for people to go on afterwards to help them toore forward with there lives. I hope you can get so.e help - either from your hospital or GP. .

You take care and let me know howyou're doing . Sending get lots of best wishes to you x
