  • Hi the submarine

welcome to the forum, you are amongst people who have been through this, survived and live to enjoy their day and help others through the process

so why don't you give us a little more information about your diagnosis process and we will try and help you through it

at the moment you are dealing with the fear of the unknown, having gone through radio and chemotherapy for throat cancer, mentally I was in a worse place whilst all the testing was going on, than I was during treatment.

dont give up, come back and talk please

  • Hi Submarine and good morning. I do understand how you feel --- most people with cancer feel the same I am sure. I am the partner of a cancer person and I feel really low some times. So these are normal feelings with this illness. But please look beyond the immediate feelings and consider how others would feel if you did this? Just suppose next week they find a cure and you were gone!

So there is beauty in every day dispite the rotton feelings - we are here to learn and grow and look beyond how we feel - but see the beauty in life. I recall feeling  low one day and listeningto the birds in the garden = they are so chearful dispite being in a desperate position. So, take strength - there is life and life for a purpose - we may never know what that purpose is - but we have to soldier on!! I would phone the nurses and discuss it over = there is no point in putting up with mental pain when you dont have to!! I will pray for you today =

  • Hello Submarine,

I am so sorry that you are feeling so low. It can be a shock to receive a new diagnosis but as our lovely members said, try and stay strong. Things are probably at their hardest now but I hope that you will find some comfort in knowing that you are not alone, that we are all here for you and that hopefully you will manage to connect with some of the people I suggested yesterday on your other thread who also have mycosis skin lymphoma.

From your other post, it sounds like the fact that you don't know much about your condition is making you terrified and hopefully once you have the knowledge you need you will feel a bit better. It might be worth giving a call to our truly lovely nurses who will know a lot about mycosis skin lymphoma and will be able to tell you everything you want to know and answer any questions you may have. You can ring them on this free number 0808 800 4040 Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm - sometimes just talking to someone who listens and is able to explain things to you truly helps so don't hesitate to pick up the phone.

There is also a great service called Samaritans if you feel down again and want to reach out to someone even in the early hours of the morning. You can find out more about them here and don't hesitate to contact them too.

We are all here for you Submarine so do let us know how things go for you. Our lovely community will be around to support you at any time.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
