Hi Banksy, I have just had my last treatment of herceptin on the 9/2/17, that was my sixth session on it since I finished my chemo at the end of September of last year. The only real problem for me is the constipation that always arrives after I have had a treatment.I have advanced cancer of the oesophagus, and cannot have surgery, and I have been told by my consultant that I will stay on it until my cancer progresses.I also have an echocardiogram every three months just to make sure that it has not affected my heart. All in all, I have not found any real problem with it. I hope this helps.
Hi I had her2 breast cancer and treated with Herceptin. I wondered is your advanced cancer breast cancer. Just wondered as I have a lot of discomfort in that area. Thanks for any information. WA
Hi no my cancer is not breast cancer. It is cancer of the oesophagus, with secondary cancers in the liver and abdomen. The reason that I am being treated with herceptin, is because the tumours in the stomach are Her 2 positive, and herceptin I have been told can help me for a while longer.
Oh I see. Thank you for responding. I think we become hyper vigilant when we hear certain words relating to cancer and treatment if. It is good stuff and I was very pleased to meet people who had been getting treatment for a her2 cancer advanced and they had been receiving treatment for over ten years. Good luck to you. WA
Hi, I'm lucky enough for this to be adjuvant. It was caught very early, but is triple positive, hence the chemo and herceptin (plus radiotherapy and Letrozole)
