Reluctant to undergo investigations

Recently had more surgery to remove yet more cancer. I have an appointment coming up for MRI looking at suspicious area found on bone scan. Part of me is reluctant as I don't want to find yet more cancer. Have spent a year already chasing and treating cancer. Is it normal to be reluctant to look for more cancer

  • I can understand your reluctance. After spending 2 months in hospital myself being treated for cancer , I was offered 6 weeks more extra chemo therapy, which meant another 6 weeks in hospital, to get 1 1/2 more years remission! I couldn't bear the thought. It's really up to you. You have to ask if they think it will give you a better quality of life or perhaps only prolong the life you have. Keep as positive as possible, & enjoy your life to the best of your ability :-)
